We are the innovators, educators, and altogether nice bunch of folk behind the award-winning Learning Journey Platform, PebblePad. Our 17-year journey has seen us consistently push the technology boundaries, build an enviable global customer-base, and gain a reputation for being the kind of company people really like doing business with. Big enough to be trusted by leading organisations across the globe, but small enough to value every team member, it's why our customer-base, just like our team, is growing year on year. If you want to be part of something incredible, and make a difference to future generations of learners, read on.
As part of our exciting growth plans we are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and passionate Learning Developer. This is a pivotal role within our Learning Services Team and will be instrumental in helping our customers to maximise their value from PebblePad. Enabling them to deepen their understanding in order to meet their pedagogical goals, connecting the dots between the software and true authentic pedagogical outcomes.
As well as planning for, preparing and delivering face to face and online training for our customers, both existing and those new to PebblePad, you will lead the development of and build a world class global training service and library. You'll create training content and prepare training environments for courses and webinars and deliver them using synchronous and asynchronous methods in the most effective and engaging way. Through this regular activity you'll build and nurture a professional network to share best practices with and keep up to date with actual use-cases. In doing so, you'll monitor the training's effectiveness and iterate as necessary.
Additionally, you'll contribute to the wider team’s remit by helping solve thorny yet interesting pedagogical problems and help build highly engaging and instructionally powerful learning content. More broadly, you’ll create materials for our community and self-help portals to supplement and reinforce our training courses, including writing guides and video scripts.
This will be a highly collaborative role which will involve working across our teams, directly with customers, sometimes with prospects and occasionally with students. From time to time you’ll have to visit customers to support them on-site, and there will be opportunities to represent us and our work at conferences and exhibitions.
You are a highly motivated and experienced educational technologist, learning designer or TEL expert. Actually, it doesn’t matter what your label is, what matters is that you have a passion for supporting and enhancing learning and that you share our vision to change the way learning is designed, experienced and assessed. You may already be a PebblePad enthusiast with an excellent understanding of the platform that you’re keen to share with our global community. If you are mission driven, are a real go-getter, have excellent customer facing and interpersonal skills then we would love to hear from you!
You will be educated to degree level or higher, ideally with a qualifications related to this particular role. You will be able to evidence your experience and attainment through a range of examples of your work, further supported by professional qualifications or accreditations – for example CMALT.
The role will require you to teach, train or explain to others, so experience of teaching, mentoring or coaching will be extremely helpful. Ideally this experience will have been gained in a higher education environment, as will your experience of helping others enhance their learning and assessment designs through the intelligent use of technology.
You will have excellent presentational skills and be comfortable speaking to and engaging with a range of audiences, including academics, administrators, senior leaders and technologists, matching their ability levels to be relevant, enjoyable and engaging at all times.
Sometimes people get anxious and frustrated – you will have the interpersonal skills to overcome this and to develop open, honest and trusted relationships with others. We can’t overstate how important great customer service is to us.
There is, of course, an element of project management required of the role, and so managing yourself and the expectations of others is essential. You will always strive to deliver the very best service, and deliver outputs you are proud of (we’ll help you in every way we can). If there’s a way of doing something better, you’re looking for it – and we’re ready to listen to your suggestions and recommendations.
You’re going to have to be self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work effectively to meet client delivery targets. Most of all, you’re going to have to be extremely comfortable working from home – if that’s what you choose to do. And that means lots of time on Zoom & MSTeams, sometimes early in the morning talking to our antipodean colleagues, and sometimes into the evening talking to our team across the pond. Self-evidently that means managing your own time effectively, and we’ll completely trust you to do so.
The salary offered will be in the range of £30k - £35k, dependent on skills and experience, and includes a generous benefits package. The role is full time and may be located at our Telford office or can be remote. As we work across different international time zones this role has to support working flexible hours where needed to support our clients. We believe in inclusion and diversity and are an equal opportunities employer.
