CHIEF PRODUCT OFFICER

ABOUT US

We are the innovators, educators, and altogether nice bunch of folk behind the award-winning Learning Journey Platform, PebblePad. Our 17-year journey has seen us consistently push the technology boundaries, build an enviable global customer-base, and gain a reputation for being the kind of company people really like doing business with. Big enough to be trusted by leading organisations across the globe, but small enough to value every team member, it's why our customer-base, just like our team, is growing year on year. If you want to be part of something incredible, and make a difference to future generations of learners, read on.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

PebblePad is a well-established educational technology business working with some of the world’s most prestigious and innovative universities, professional organisations and awarding bodies.

We are looking for someone with the passion, drive and energy to join our reinvigorated business. We have ambitious 5x growth aspirations for the next 3 years, and the CPO will play a pivotal role in this phase of growth.

Reporting to the CEO the CPO will set the direction and strategy for our highly regarded product. Working in close partnership with our CTO, the CPO will execute on our vision every day in iterative, value-adding chunks.

You will have full autonomy to run and grow the teams as you see fit, but with the benefit of being able to draw upon the support, advice and guidance of an accomplished and experienced C-suite team (CEO, CFO, CTO and CGO).

WE EXPECT THE CPO TO:

Be the product champion – as the product expert, you will constantly be selling our product internally and externally, inspiring staff and pitching to partners, investors, and the board.

Help us to make the right prioritization decisions – we have too much good stuff to do and limitless ambition! We can’t do everything so it’s your job to help our leaders align on what we’re aiming for while leaving the HOW for the teams.

Empower the product team – make this a product-led business, with cross-functional working engrained in how we work. We want you to make PebblePad the best place in EdTech to work in product.

Hustle and execute – there’s so much to do, every day you’ll work to remove blockers, create clarity for folks at all levels, support senior leaders in other departments where needed, improve the way our teams are working, and – most importantly - deliver results.

WE THINK YOU'LL NEED:

  • Senior product management experience of leading successful product teams through periods of rapid growth

  • Natural customer centricity that can inspire teams and be articulated into business outcomes

  • Broad experience of Agile – ideally garnered across multiple frameworks and flavours

  • To be comfortable using data to drive business decisions and in aligning product KPIs to drive the right behaviours

  • Hands on people management experience, especially coaching and developing product managers, as well as experience supporting senior leaders to get the best from their teams

  • Ingrained expertise and passion for end-to-end agile product development where product management is responsible for outcomes not products

  • A one team, one dream mindset on the product & technology partnership

  • An understanding of the complexities of a B2B product at scale, identifying when customization is win-win and knowing when to stand firm

  • Edtech, SaaS & scale-up experience is preferred

ABOUT THE REWARDS

The salary offered will be dependent on skills and experience, and includes a generous benefits package. The role is full time and may be located at our Telford office or can be remote. We believe in inclusion and diversity and are an equal opportunities employer.
